Process JournalKeeping a sketchbook or journal is a crucial part of an Artist's creative development. Students in this course are expected to keep a DAILY RECORD of their work in an online Process Journal (link attached).
Journals should be a reflection of each individual student and students should include visual research (images), technique and process research (links), project ideas and sketches, classroom notes, critiques and personal reflections. Journals will be assessed on techniques, processes, individual growth, research and reflection. There will be weekly checkpoints for the instructor to assess where the student is in his or her process, so scores in Gradebook will change frequently to reflect this. As Process Journals are required to include current/daily photos of classwork, these Journals will ALSO be used to periodically assess student work remotely. Reassessments for the Process Journal will be incorporated into the subsequent weekly assessment. The Journal rubric is attached at the bottom of this page. |
